corsica engine stalls...but NOT tcc

I have a 94 corsica 3.1L 102,000 mi. Same story as some other threads;after driving over 50mph or when engine gets hot,it stalls after coming to a stop, starts again (usually) then dies for good after next stop.Takes several hours to cool down before starting again.Figured it was the tcc solenoid so I unplugged the connector.Still kept stalling, so I just had it replaced($325) w/new filter. It's NOT the transmission after all because it still dies.Fuel pump is fine & good pressure and the ignition control module checks out.Waiting on check of the crankshaft sensor. Oh, & of course the "service engine soon" light always comes on. Any ideas would be a big help !

Have you checked what codes are you getting from the SES light? That would be a good start.
Also, hows the idle and acceleration? Does it hesitates and sputters? Could be a cracked coil... has the engine been tuned up lately? If not I would guess it could be a plugged EGR port.
Hope it helps...

Sounds like the same mileage I had where I had probs with what your having. I noticed my plugs were white covered. I replaced the plugs, wires, O2 sensor, PCV valve and EGR valve and it runs tops.

If you have not done anything as of yet invest in a cheap code reader and see what codes you get. Might be the EGR and they are expensive as a rule(many are digital EGR's). Could simply be a simple thing such as an o2, MAP sensor etc.,or a code setting due to other problems. Codes can set and have multiple possibilities on many of the sensors, but you need this checked before proceeding. Sounds like crank sensor, or weak ignition module. I assume you removed the ignition module assy and had it checked at a reputable parts store. Check the coils for cracks, and if you are not sure about the crank sensor, replace it, it is cheap compared to other sensors. Clean the IAC valve and areas around it. If never cleaned it could be a problem as they carbon up and can be a pain. Shoot some injector cleaner into the car after working on it. Always be sure to disconnect the battery first, when working or removing any sensor, and then let the car idle for 8-10 minutes after starting. Give it NO gas at all, it must learn to idle on it's own. Get a service manual, either a Haynes or a GM manual. They are worth having and cheap.
