93 PGT transmission in 93 MX6?wicked_asp 06-24-2005, 08:42 AM I ws just wanting to know if the automatic transmission from a 93 PGT will be a direct swap for a mx6. I know they are the same externally but the mx-6 has the whole hold button thing. I need to know because I have an MX6 with a bad transmission and a complete 93 PGT parts car shawnwilliams 06-29-2005, 12:52 PM There the same. As long as your not swapping a I4 tranny to a v6. The I4 and V6 are the exact same in a probe and mx-6. The mx-3 has the same v6 to, but has a different I4. (1.8L) performanceprobe 07-01-2005, 02:08 AM if the mx-6 is a gt,then yes,if its not the no,not without using gt axels and steering knuckles, and rotors, the regular axels cant take the torque the gt tranny will put out. The mx-3 has the same v6 to, but has a different I4. (1.8L) the mx-3 does not have the same v6. the tranny from a pgt or mx6-v6 will bolt up to the mx3 v6, and you may put a KLZE into it (2.5L JDM engine) as you can in the Probe and mx6. however, from factory, the v6 is a 1.8L on the mx3, im not sure of the i4. might be 2.0. any engine parts will go from mx6 to a probe and vice versa, as long as its a 4cyl to 4cyl or v6 to v6. you get my point. VlaDeMaN 07-13-2005, 12:54 AM if the mx-6 is a gt,then yes,if its not the no,not without using gt axels and steering knuckles, and rotors, the regular axels cant take the torque the gt tranny will put out. the 4cyl axles should be able to take gt power. many turboed 4cyls probes and mx6's use stock axles, and they put out more power than the stock v6, so 4cyl axles on a stock v6 should be sufficient. if you think youre going to mod that v6, eventually you will want to look into getting v6 axles, if you dont do it at the time of the swap. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
