Should I Buy a Used 2003 Windstar???lspice27 06-23-2005, 04:43 PM I think I am getting a pretty good deal, it's an LX model. Doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but we are in need of extra room because of our newest addtion to the family. Are they safe and reliable? rodeo02 06-24-2005, 04:04 AM They are as reliable as any domestic minivan. You get a lot of van for the money with a windstar. They are large (probably the largest), roomy, comfortable and decent on gasoline. Hywy mileage with my 2001 avgs 23mpg. Oh yeah... they rank high on safety! G/luck Joel DRW1000 06-24-2005, 03:57 PM Very happy with my 99. Acceptable on fuel, smooth ride, roomy and good accerleration. bruker 06-24-2005, 04:24 PM I have 170,000 miles on an `01 Windstar. No problems, 23mpg highway w/check engine light on. DRW1000 06-24-2005, 06:07 PM Let's get the light off bruker. What year and ehat code? CoachKarl 06-24-2005, 11:22 PM Any used car is a risk if you're not in tight with the previous owner. However. The information I've gleened from reading this forum for a year has made me unafraid to buy any Windstar. Go for it. Karl. I has the best visabilty, and drives like a car, not a bus. We took out our middle row seat, and the interior is huge! I have had some problems but no more than any other car. The engine they use for that is one of the most reliable...I think its an old tracktor engine! I have a kid and a big dog, so its worked out great! good luck! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
