Intermittent Windshield Wiper

The Specifications for the truck as follows :
l985 GMC Sierra Classic, 4 x 4, extended cab, with a 2.8 ltr. V-6 , carburerated engine, + remanufactured motor.

Items not working include : a) the
tachometer in dash, as factory installed, b) analog gauges, not digital, for the fuel tank, voltage meter to the alternator, low speed to the windshield wiper motor, intermittent speed to the windshield wiper motor. When you click on the high speed to the windshield wiper unit, the washer unit goes on, and
won't go off, until about 2 min. later, after you fiddle with it. The steering column includes cruise control feature, at the wiper switch also.

History : engine fire, which included , replacement motor, replacement 3 wiring harness's at the firewall, from used vehicle at wrecking yard. Replacemt. switch at column, and wiper motor, from wrecking yard also. Four different wrecking yard electric wiper motors were installed. Results,
default. The dashboard radio was removed from the vehicle by unknown visitors, and they hacked their way thru the wiring lines to the radio. This radio, as replaced is not presently reinstalled, with about l5 wires dangling loose at the radio area. It is possible someone cut off a dashboard radio wire and attendant other wire, causing systm. default. (s). I am now in the process of connecting in the radio, on my next days off, and hope that will lead to some type of partial, or full remedy. All fuses appear ok. The Haynes book talks about a circuit breaker unit, but gives no location or whereabouts to the unit , to be reset, or checked. When you turn the instrument lights on
with the headlight switch, the buzzer unit stays on, so you can't night drive, with instrument lights, as the annoying buzzer unit, stays on. It sounds like a cross over, or hookup wiring mixup, maaaaybe.
