I found my front passenger wheel bearing harness dangling under this car with the wires exposed----- but not to bare wire-could this be why my abs /trac off light appear.I replaced that bearing with no luck on removing the lights. Before I replaced the bearing I would get the abs/trac light only after a couple miles--now it is all the time.Is the harness that the bearing plugs into removable? Could it be the harness causing this problem? I just had the driver front bearing replaced three weeks ago------Also would worn brake pads on the rear cause these light to appear?

The harness is replacable, it was a dealer only part when i replaced mine 5 years ago. A common problem with them is they get full of water and crud when you drive, and the wiring rots out of them, leaving the insulation and the appearance of a good connection. I had the dealer diagnose mine, then bought the harnesses and replaced them, no more abs light...

NOTE these should be replaced in PAIRS. That means change BOTH at the same time/day!If not you'll just go back and forth, but wires dangling is not good at all.
I've had my wheel bearing/hub unit on my 99' grand am replaced three times, and it was like $1100 each time. The first two it was the bearing squeealing.Dealer said it's commen on 99's', and of course the 1 yr warrnty was up by only a month or so( got screwwed)). Then I had the ABS and Trac off lights come on and it was the wheel speed sensor. And another $1000.
I could've done it but I have nowhere to do the work properly. I only had my car 3 yrs, but I do DRIVE it. Remember their all disposable, why else would they make soo many:)
