96 windstar starterrhonsman 06-20-2005, 11:07 PM hello. i wrote a while back about installing a new starter and not being able to get the gear in the starter lined up with the flywheel gear. The problem turned out to be a slightly different nose on the rebuilt starter than what i previously had in the windstar. the old starter nose(casting)ended up being used with new insides put into it. works fine now. CoachKarl 06-20-2005, 11:25 PM Thanks for posting back. Will be on the looking for different casting. Sounds like a mixup at the starter rebuild shop.
