hello. i wrote a while back about installing a new starter and not being able to get the gear in the starter lined up with the flywheel gear. The problem turned out to be a slightly different nose on the rebuilt starter than what i previously had in the windstar. the old starter nose(casting)ended up being used with new insides put into it. works fine now.

Thanks for posting back. Will be on the looking for different casting. Sounds like a mixup at the starter rebuild shop.
