S-Runner Towing89lxihb 00lude 06-19-2005, 11:29 PM What is the difference in the 4x4 V6 that lets it tow 1500lbs more than a S-Runner. Is it a frame issue, brakes, springs or rear end. looking to tow a car trailer combo that weighs 3600lbs plus tools, tires, me and the wife. All that stuff puts the trucks out of the 6800lbs total vehicle and trailer weight. Flash75 06-20-2005, 08:39 PM I don't have an answer but I suspect it may have a lower towing capacity because of the tall standard gear ratio in the differential 3.15:1. If you use a trailer with brakes and you don't have too many steep grades you should be ok going a little over the total weight ratings. I don't think that's something that is normally checked by enforcement people on small trucks. I know I haven't given you a good answer but if I were in your shoes I would try it.
