"Service vehicle soon" warning on the dashboard displayiceman06 06-19-2005, 08:56 PM My aurora has a Service Vehicle soon warning on the dashboard display. You know the display with the date and all that stuff on it. Anyway the Service Engine light is not on and the only symptoms are that the car is idling at about 800 RPM (normal is 600 RPM) and after a long drive the car starts to shift hard. Once I park it and let it cool down the shifting goes back to normal. A mechanic said he turned up a transmission code but I'm not sure exactly what it is. Anyone have any ideas? tjm 06-20-2005, 04:22 PM Usually that message displayed on the DIC (Driver's Information Center) has to do with values like Temp, oil presure, low oil level, alternator output or the like. If you press the "Engine" button and scroll through the readings you will probably see one that is not where it should be. One more thing - when you turn you key to on - without starting the car - make sure the Check Engine light works. try to get the code and let us know what it is. Chuckk1 04-30-2007, 08:56 PM Ha.....my "Service Vehicle Soon" light used to come on constantly. Then it never came on again. I won't worry until I see the message "Sell Vehicle Today". I've heard that the manufacturers make it so that these come on after 100K miles just to get the owners into the dealerships for $ervice. maxwedge 05-01-2007, 07:37 AM 2 year old thread here. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
