I've got a 98 Tahoe that wont start. It's got fire to plugs, gas to intake and no fault codes. It turns over good a couple of times then acts like timing is off. So i pulled plugs and they where gas fouled is this a fuel pressure regulator problem or something else because just changed plugs and tried it and it gas fouled them too.

Not sure if you found the problem yet. Similar thing happened to our '03. Went out to start it one morning, and it would crank over, but just wouldn't start. Had it towed to buddy's shop. Once it came down from the tow truck, it started right up. Found that the fuel pump was beginning to go out. We still haven't had it replaced yet, because the stealership wants $1100, and my buddy can do it for $650. For now, we just can't run the tank lower than 1/4 tank.

On that note, if it IS your fuel pump, and you end up replacing it (with the AC Delco pump assembly), don't let your tank run down lower than 1/4 tank. My buddy said that the AC Delco pumps are notorious for going out--they need at least a 1/4 tank of gas to keep the pump cool. Once it gets below 1/4 tank, it produces excessive internal heat, which burns it out. We've been driving on this 'bad' pump for 3 months since my visit to my buddy's shop, and it hasn't given us any trouble (but we haven't run it below 1/4 tank)... hope this helps.
