95 tracker problem

Hey my question is i have a 95 geo tracker and after i have driven for awhile it smells like its running hot but the temp guage is about half and replaced the thermostatedoes anyone have an idea thanks in advance

I have a 94 geo, and when i am on the highway for a while it smells like it is running really hot. Its not overheating, just smelling hot.

If something smells hot, something IS hot! You need to make sure something is not too close to the exhaust manifold and inspect the entire exhaust system for anything out of place. You may have coolant or oil on the engine. An electrical burn would be pretty obvious by it's rancid odor, blown fuse or something no longer working.

it is running hot but not the egr is not sealing all the way closed and as it getd worse you will start to loose power and eventually burn the pistons out of it the cause is carbon build up the fix is new egr valve and a clothes hanger and carb cleaner and a 6 pack of beer cause you have to get all the pipes cleaned out going to the egr vavle and sometimes you have to pull the entire intake of to do it the solution to to prblem to keep from having to do it again is to run a bottle of rubbing acohol or a little acetone through it very tank or every month
