Lucas Transmission fix for 95

I've got a 95 Intrepid that wont seem to change gears when i have the accelarator all the way down (from standing and passing gear). Other than that it seems ok. I want to add some Lucas and see if it helps. I;m worried about overfilling...Lucas says a moderate overfill is ok, but I am still apprehensive.

Has anyone had luck with Lucas, and been ok with adding it to an existing, full tranny???

thanks

Did you stay in it until it hits the rev limiter or past redline on the tachometer? It doesn't seem to make sense if it shifts normally under normal driving conditions but not under WOT conditions. I don't know what redline is for a 3.3 equipped vehicle but the 3.5 is 6500 RPM and it should shift 1-2 and 2-3 right at or just before redline on the tachometer, 3-4 upshifts should occur at 5000 RPM under WOT conditions.

Adding Lucas or anything else to these transmissions is not advised, these transmissions are very picky about anything but the corrrect transmission fluid (ATF+3) added to them. Any other type of fluid or additive can harm it, especially a Transmission Conditioner, these will swell up old seals and the tranny will run fine........for a while then the seals start to shrink again or get brittle and then it's possible you will get in the car one day and it will not move.

I am going to try a synthetic trann (http://www.syntheticoilman.com)y fluid (http://www.syntheticoilman.com) next change...anything I should worry about? I am having good success with synthetic oils in both of my high-mileage vehicles, just haven't tried anything in the tranny.
