Ford is not going to recall Windstar even it uses the same switch as recalled F-series. How can I disconnect the switch myself, so that no current will go into the switch? Dealer can do it but charge over $50 for 10 minutes of work!

Thanks.

I don't know the history of the fires you speak of but I would bet that pulling the cruise fuse or disconnecting the connector to the cruise module would be the way to go.

The brake pressure switch that is the cause of the fires , is located on the brake master cylinder, you can just disconnect the electrical plug that connects to it.
