How to disable cruise control to prevent fire?yxjin 06-17-2005, 02:15 PM Ford is not going to recall Windstar even it uses the same switch as recalled F-series. How can I disconnect the switch myself, so that no current will go into the switch? Dealer can do it but charge over $50 for 10 minutes of work! Thanks. Jin DRW1000 06-17-2005, 07:31 PM I don't know the history of the fires you speak of but I would bet that pulling the cruise fuse or disconnecting the connector to the cruise module would be the way to go. djp4059 06-19-2005, 10:49 PM The brake pressure switch that is the cause of the fires , is located on the brake master cylinder, you can just disconnect the electrical plug that connects to it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
