Lack of power

Ok, I have a 99 Sebring Convertible which has issues. For the past 6 months or so, I don't seem to have as much power as I used to, esecially at low RPM's. Once I'm on the highway, it's not as bad, but still noticeable that i don't accelerate as i used to.

I brought it to the dealership, and they said I needed a tune-up and a new catalytic converter. Being that I had a tuneup recently, from my regular mechanic, I brought it to him. He tested my cat and he said he really didn't think that was the issue.

I'm thinking about a third opinion, but has this happened to anyone, or does anyone have any ideas? I don't feel like spedning a grand to get this crap taken care of only to find out that it wasn't the issue.

could be a pretty big range of problems. take it to your trusted mechanic and have him check it out. my dad has this car and it has been nothing but trouble.

if you had a bad cat, you'd have a top speed of 30 MPH. Have you had your timing belt done recently? Because if you had and whoever worked on it might have knocked a tooth out of time and thus the sluggish acceleration.
