Sorry guys, but does anyone have a diagram on how to change the evaporator on a 96 gcl? I have 211000 kilometers on my jeep and I am thinking just to change the heater core as well, also I am hereing you need special tools to do this so what tools are they and can I rent them from Canadian Tire?

Yes I have searched!! can't find any detailed info or I jus tsuck at searching.

Haynes repair manual covers it. It's not an easy job. Dash and center console have to be removed. I would change the heater core at the same time. Try search at www.jeepsunlimited.com and www.nagca.com (North American Grand Cherokee Association)

What are the special tools called in order to get the evaporator lines off?
Thanks aswell for posting I guess I will be buying a Haynes manual seeing as how my mechanic wants $900.00 for the whole job. And I might aswell change the heatercore, I really don't feel like ripping the dash out again.
