'92 Toyota Engine hard to turn over and will not startsuperfly_32 06-15-2005, 08:07 AM First thing I have a '92 toyota pickup 4x4, 22RE. I recently put a new clutch in and I done this in my spare time over the period of a couple weeks. I get everything back together and turn the key and the starter was grinding the first couple times I turned the key. I took the starter and and had it checked out and everything is fine with it. I put it back in and it does not seem like it has enough ass to turn the motor over. So I took the battery off and charged it. This did not help. I took the battery back and had it checked out at the parts store and everything is good. I just do not understand what it going on. Please throw out any ideas that you may have. I also live at the bottom of a hill so bump starting it is not an option. NoFear4189 06-19-2005, 12:10 PM your clutch might be too tight or not releasing when you push in the pedal, making the motor try to turn over under load. Im not a pro, but this may be your problem. -Adam- vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
