First thing I have a '92 toyota pickup 4x4, 22RE. I recently put a new clutch in and I done this in my spare time over the period of a couple weeks. I get everything back together and turn the key and the starter was grinding the first couple times I turned the key. I took the starter and and had it checked out and everything is fine with it. I put it back in and it does not seem like it has enough ass to turn the motor over. So I took the battery off and charged it. This did not help. I took the battery back and had it checked out at the parts store and everything is good. I just do not understand what it going on. Please throw out any ideas that you may have. I also live at the bottom of a hill so bump starting it is not an option.

your clutch might be too tight or not releasing when you push in the pedal, making the motor try to turn over under load. Im not a pro, but this may be your problem.
