Back Firing stalling ?TEXAST 06-12-2005, 08:18 PM I've got a 97 3.3 starts good after about 10 minutes back firing and missing and stall No codes ? new cam sensor plugs and wires 1 year old. any ideas very much appreciated before I break down and spend more $$$ caravandrvr 06-12-2005, 10:05 PM - Might be an issue with the timing, but try the test outlined here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=398005 http://www.geocities.com/caravandrvr/meter.gif - TEXAST 06-14-2005, 11:39 PM :bigthumb: Caravandrvr Thanks so much would have never figured that one out. one thing , how come no codes when system drops bellow 12v. it did stall out only took ten minutes though. thanks again Tom  caravandrvr 06-15-2005, 11:08 PM - Can't say for sure why it won't throw a code - I can only assume that when the voltage drops it chokes the computer. I have seen them throw a code 41, but a lot of times it doesn't, and even when it does it gets misdiagnosed! Thanx for the follow up and letting us know it helps. Since I started working on these things I've come to the conclusion that they get a bad rap due to a lot of misdiagnosis causing parts to be needlessly changed. This is one of those types of things - right up there with "you need a new transmission"..... :2cents: - vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
