i have a 92 grand voyager with bout 130k on it

The heating is very poor. As the system is not designed to re-circulate the air in heating, the heater works good only if outside temperature is abour 40F. But at freezing and below freezing, the air is just barely warm. I changed the thermostat and coolant last year after winter but there is no difference. I checked the coolant recently and its full and fine. I have also observed that the heating gets better while the car is moving, if stopped at a traffic light etc, the heating gets bad.

what could be the prob, ive been told its probably the pump but could it be a plugged heater core. help

Check the heater hoses when fully warmed up. I think they should both be warm. If one is cool there could be a restriction in the heater core. Also check vacuum lines to heater control valve to make sure the lines are not cracked causing a vacuum leak.
