97 AC Doesn't Cool in Stop n' Go Traffic

My air conditioning works fine on the highway but doesn't cool very well at all in stop n' go traffic. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone has any sucess remedying this with an electric fan perhaps? What has worked?

The A/C was serviced a few years ago and I think is working properly as designed, but I think the design has a flaw with low air throughput.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Check the condensor for bugs or anything that will restrict air flow thru it. Clean as necessary.

Your fan clutch may not be performing well. Check it and replace it if necessary.

Does the a/c compressor cycle on and off at idle? If so, you may be low on refrigerant.

I have the same problem, Im not sure what the problem is because I have refilled the refregarent and cleaned the condinsers. I do run a electric fan now but the problem presisted with the factory fan and clutch. If I figure it out you will be the first one I will tell how to fix it because I know how mad you can get when you are sitting a forever long redlight and your about to break a sweat.
