Can anyone help explain to me how to safely remove the steering wheel airbag from a 96' Yukon?? Other than telling me to buy a shop manual, or take it to a shop....(most recent explanation i've gotten :banghead: )...lol
Thanks

Hi, I don't have the 96 manual, but the 2001 manual has a whole list of electronic items to disconnect.
There is a capacitor that keeps the thing alive even after disconnecting the battery. :crying:
I really would keep my fingers out of this one. :dunno:
Airbags tend to explode when provoked. :22yikes:
Take care, Eggert :bananasmi

I got the airbag off, turned out there was a yellow wire that needed to be disconnected to prevent a mishap. I also disconnected the battery just to make sure. The new wheel looks great!! I've uploaded a pic...
