1995 suddenly stops electrically

Hello - I had a very strange thing happen twice the other day. While driving my 1995 Roadmaster. The electrical system seemed to completely short out - flickering everything from the radio, lights, etc, and killing the motor. I quickly put in N and was able to start while going down the road - this happend twice. I'm now not driving it. Anybody have any ideas?

I have 1995 Roadmaster Estate wagon and had same crazy electrical problem. It ended up getting worse to point I lost all electric power and car died on the road. I later found out at dealer that a poor quality design for alternate postive battery terminal on underhood fuse box locate near firewall on passenger side under hood had gradually shorted and melted. Repair required replacement of under hood fuse box and terminal with a improved design. This was a known problem for a few of us owners and Buick only fixed if/when problem occurred. A think I paid $150 bucks but problem solved and reliabilty to vehicle restored.
The dealer did the work. Worth the money as I still have my Wagon and
always will.
