I put 2 new sensers on my car......the radiater senser and the heating senser.........before I did this the fan wasnt coming on at all....and the temp gauge wasnt working either........after I replaced the sensers the temp gauge started working and the fan is working also......the problem is that the fan wont cut off....And me being married to a dip****, he kept saying the car was a 98 escort...when in fact its a 97 escort, soooooooooo ,,,,,,, does the 97 and 98 escorts have different sensers......if so that could be the cause of my problems.....so if anyone knows anything that could help me please write me back please......or e-mail me at RGWilliams@surry.net.thanks so much

I don't know for certain, but chances are that the sensors for the 97 and 98 are the same.
Check to make sure that after the sensor was replaced that the wire to it was replaced securely... if it is loose or not connected then your fan would stay on.

call autozone, or your local parts place. ask them to look up the respective sensors for a 97 and a 98. they will be able to tell from the parts number whether they are the same part.

have fun,
