Well this just happened,im going to keep it short and sweet, my friend and i are on our way back from fridays when the is300 blows past, so i drop it in 4th and catch up, as soon as i pull even he floors it, i do the same, in short i pulled 3 cars on him from 80 - 120 give him the the thumbs up, and that was it, i missed my exit so i turned around and went back to campus. 15.4 second car

I raced an IS300 off the line and beat him by about almost 2 car lengths up to 60mph then I eased off.

their only problem is weight.

we may be FWD haters but that doesn't mean we don't think FWD cars can be fast, especially with a good driver. but, the fact remains, that take the same exact car but spin the rears instead of the fronts and the car is automatically 100x better.

Not in all weather conditions. FWD is better than RWD in the snow/rain.

Nice kill.

I thought the IS300 was a 15.1 15.2 2 car from the factory? i think they weigh like 3200 pounds though.

if the IS was a 15.1 car odds are your older 3kgt sl with higher mileage would have been beaten like a step child, but hey you beat a toyota nice job

What do you have done to your 'Maro, because I took an IS by just over a door, and for the most part I just walk the 93-97 V6 'Stangs and the late model V6 'Maros.

Nope, not that fast. They use the 2JZ-GE, the motor from the NA Supra. So, they can be made very very fast, but from the floor, not anything that big or bad.

Its the same block but its really not on par with the supra's motor, I guess the NA supra. For it to be fast you would have to turbo charge it and have forged internals and lowered compression. For the price of and IS you would be better off getting a TT supra. They are cool cars though and what I like about them is that they are RWD and kind of an economy car. I wish they made a Toyota version that was cheaper though.

What do the TTs cost in your area? I mean, I may be crazy here, but I'd rather get the IS, and spend the extra cash on getting it turboed, than spend 30k on a car that has 60k plus miles.

Oh well its really personal preference, I can't tell you what is worth it to you or not. All respect for your own opinion believe me. I have seen the supra TTs prices all over the place. I have seen them from 12-20000. They are definately rediculously overpriced. Unfortunately the IS300's I have seen are also pretty pricey. Definately not saying a IS300 with a turbo wouldn't be cool, and I know it has been done.

my TA is putting out well over 320hp, and well over 400 ft/lbs and i spin tires till 75mph, so if u still think you can take me you should probably think twice, look at my signature and thats what i have done

I was with dad in the 5.0 one day and this kid in an IS300 had his rap music going, his hat all backwards, and looking at us like we weren't worthy of licking his shoes pulls up beside us.

Well the light turns green and we just take off rather quickly, it was raining. I look over and this guy isn't even beside us. Dad hits 3rd and the Stang goes a bit sideways and he has to slow way down. The IS catches back up but never passes. Dad shifted into 4th a little past 3 and began to pull hard on this kid who had the thing floored.

I must say it was rather funny.
