Man you are making me jealous, still looking for my car... Vip09 06-09-2005, 03:57 PM Good luck man.. hope everything goes smooth. One question though.. why not go with the GZE head.. GE means high flow head which would be critical in a high revving NA engine. 91 Celica St 06-09-2005, 04:21 PM thanks guys, theres many a reasons why im goin with the F head but heres just a few i mainly hate being like everyone else, hecne why i bought a celica, i didnt want to be like every other honda head out there with a hatch w a dz swap etc... everyone uses the Ghead and says the F head flows like crap and is just a big boat i dont belive that heres why i look at the two heads as this, a two stoke motor and a 4 stroke, a g head has to stay in high rpm's to stay in powerband, and mostly has all up top shit, hence why they need to revv hgih to make power i beleve i can keep the F head at under 8K and make more power than a G head, this is being used for mainly hill climbs and mountain passing, theres alot of Touge type racing out here so i need all the botem end i can get and an F head will produce that second of all the G head flows pretty much sideways, no real angle to it, and the squish area of the head is actually VERY diffrernt than the F head, the F head flows at a relativly steep angle , granted stock they flow like crap but im getting ALOT of headwork done to it, and i belive this head has potnetial, but i do agree, stock it flows like crap but can be made to flow relativly well also how many G head motors do you know that can put out more TQ than HP? slim to none, with this setup im looking at more Tq than i am hp witch is ideal for the type of racing i will be doing and yes this new motor i have now is going to revv to about 7K w/out the valves srpings and cam m going to use, afterwards proably about 8K but the f head will have a more broad tq and Hp band than just having all top end like a g head and basically who woudlnt like to have a 200+Hp motor that gets 30 MPG :) SigmaProjects 06-12-2005, 03:41 AM do you know if those exhuast control valves work or not? The ones to creat some back pressure at low rpms and open up at higher rpms? 91 Celica St 06-12-2005, 04:41 AM well its officially oficial, G head cams will DEFFINATLY not work on a f head not jsut cuz u cant move around the slave gear setup, but the way the distributor is setup is diffrent on the 2 motors, not to mention most gze cams have DLI ignition anyway, so there goes that idea, i DEFINATLY need new cams for this thing, i wont make nearly as mcu h HP withough them 91 Celica St 06-25-2005, 06:52 PM update again: block is getting machined, it was pitted and some rust in cyilendar #4 so it was bored .30 over, crank didnt need to be reground and all rods are getting balanced and shaved down to 500 Grams....the machinest said i should be able to revv to about 8 grand, mabe more with a new cam, im hoping to break 9 but i duno if thats gunna happen blakscorpion21 06-26-2005, 12:00 AM damm its like a broken record . good luck SigmaProjects 06-26-2005, 04:34 AM man 500 grams is so little, that's only about 1.1 lbs. =) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
