Well I was trying not to talk about why it was in the shop........ but Fine.........

A SEMI TRUCK HIT ME AND KNOCKED MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR SMOOTH OFF!!!!!!! I was out on the side of the freeway changing a fuze that had blown (been having trouble with the electrical system) and I went to get back in the car, I got in and shut the door but it didn't latch all the way (did shut it hard enough) and a semi truck drove by right at that moment. Now he was swaying back and forth dipping his tail into the emergency lane and when he drove by me (In the emergency lane) the vaccumm his truck created sucked my door open and underneath his back tires.................

Now when this happened I was sitting in the car, So Imagine how it looked from my point of view. All I saw was my door swing back open, go right underneath the tires on the DAMN SEMI TRUCK. and just fold up underneath the tires. I just sat there speechless and I heard my girlfriend Screaming and Crying (she was in the car behind me).

Needless to say the truck didn't stop at all. So me and my insurance have to take care of it.......... This is why I took a break from Automotive forums....... I didn't wanna talk about this....... :crying:

That's fucking ridiculous man. I'm very sorry to hear that. And I am in no way surprised that he didn't stop (i'm sure he noticed what happened), truck drivers are notorious assholes.

Sucks that it happened to your baby though. I can relate. I've been in quite a few accidents myself, and I know how it is to not be able to drive your car, nonetheless just watch it in the shop. Seems like it takes forever to get your car back too whenever they are at the shop.

A truck driver tried to run me off the road because he thought I was going to slow for his liking (I was traveling at the posted 65 mph speed limit). He started tailgating me, (within a foot or 2) instead of passing me in the other lane. So i blipped my brakes to get him off. He passed me and while doing so, he started coming straight into my lane (at a rapid rate). I had no where to go but the inside shoulder of the highway which almost caused me to wreck (it wasnt much more than a dirt ditch with some trees) and with 4,000 lbs of building material in the back of my truck I would have been dead. Now I consider this a threat to my life, an unwarranted threat at that. Now I am not a violent or savage person in the least, but I will defend myself if need be. He is a lucky man in that I was not carrying my gun in my truck that day, or his life may have been threatend as well (I have the right to defend my life and will do so if need be). This is not the only problem I have personaly had with truckers either, nor is it the only time i've heard of others having problems with them. I have spoken with many semi drivers about these incidents and they have confirmed that fact that many drivers they know of do the same thing for fun (or because they just don't give a flying fuck).

Being a large vehicle operator myself I can understand the stresses of driving a large vehicle in traffic, but many truckers can be down right malicious for no reason what so ever.

Sorry to jack your thread savior, just explaining my motivations to kids that can't comprehend.

There are some truckers out there that are straight up ass holes. I have seen them grind their wheel right into someone's door while they were driving and the prick didn't even stop, just kept on going.They always are in the passing lane too. They are slow as shit when nobodys in front of them and they want to pass you when ever they are in back. Its like the whole trucking industry caught a bad case of lead dog syndrome. What they did to your door dosn't surprise me but it pisses me off none the less. I hope it gets fixed as good as new.

Sadly enough that might not lose him his job. Commercial Drivers have to have a certain amount of infractions/complaints against them for their CDL license to be withdrawn. And as far as his job is concerened, his imployer might not give a damn, if in fact he isn't self-employed anyway.

Also, since the trucker didn't actually "hit" the car he could just say that he did'nt even know anything had happend. So he could even get out of the fact that he sucked the door off, ran it over and left the scene. I'm also willing to bet since he was so close to the car (close enough to suck the door off and run it over is damn close) he watched the whole thing in his mirror, and I bet he had a good laugh at Savior's expense...dirty dirty truckers :mad:

actually he did hit the car. my door didn't get pulled off by the wind. It was sucked wide open and then the tire crushed it while it was still attached to my car. (Like I said, he was swerving in and out of the emergency lane, basically driving on the divider line). It was then ripped off my car (Luckily the impact didn't knock my car into the middle of the freeway.) then slid into the middle of the freeway where another semi proceded to run it over again. The cops came and moved the door to the side of the road. The cop said it was a hit and run because my car was stopped in the emergency lane and he hit my car. But I had no information on him though.....

I've actually had to draw twice with intent to shoot in my house, not a fun situation, but usually staring down the barrel of what many consider an "assault rifle" usuallay scares them away fast enough. Anyways, I've had to deal with ass hole truckers twice, first was when I was all but run off the road (when I honked, he gave me the bird), and the other one was driving, at night, with his headlights off, and I was forced to run a red light as not to get hit by him. In my area, they always ride around in the left lne going slow as shit, and if you try to pass them, they just speed up or try to cut in front of you. man me and my co worker usually tail each other from work just in case something happens to one of us. the weds. night star wars came out we were gonna get on the freeway and we got the green light to go and a semi ran a red light to make a left turn as my co worker was going the trucker didnt even bother to stop. he was gonna t-bone my coworker's 97 civic. my coworker mashed the brakes and slammed the car in to reverse to get out of his way. the trucker didnt give a shit that he ran the red and didnt even try to stop when he saw my coworkers car. the goverment has got to step in and make it harder to get a truck driving licence or something because fine they may be pros but then there are the assclowns that use those 18 wheelers as weapons

It's not the license test that's that problem, it's the dirty, white trash, old men (not all but most) that just don't give a shit about anything. I've heard a large percent of them are on meth a good amount of the time (info comes from a trucker). Which would mean that they would be in an agitated state while they're driving as well. Unlike 98% of truck drivers, I make sure to not make mistakes when it comes to doing a job I'm getting paid for. Ya know the whole training process? I actually pay attention to it. Of course, it may come to the whole education verse drop out thing, but I wont hop into that tangent. The fact is, straight up, truck drivers are assholes who have no consideration for anyone else only becusae they drive a big truck.

Oh, and about the USA not being able to funtion without truck driver, I'll disagree. See, its circular logic. Maybe the US woudln't be able to function without truck drivers...but if no one built the roads they travel on/made the trucks they use, or produced the goods that they haul, or contracted them to ship said goods...then they would be out of a job, and I'm pretty sure we would figure something out.

Guys, I wouldn't bitch. The highways were constructed for the truckers. Our interstates are there FOR the semi-trucks. That's the primary reason for their construction, obviously with rapid, easy-moving transit in second place. If you don't believe me, look it up. I hate dealing with them as much as the next guy, but they really are more entitled to the road than we are. They're on it as a living. They're there constantly. Besides, you try to pull a heavy load all the time. It's not like driving a car. Try putting yourself in their shoes.

grow up and get a job, one mistake like causing hundreds if not thousands of dollars of damage to a car, then a hit and run, on top of nearly killing a pedestrian in the process...a "simple" mistake that large can end up costing a whole lot on the companies behalf :shakehead .

in the corperate world it is even worse...you are saposed to write up a report on one thing your company does, but instead you write one on another and you figure it out the night before the meeting infront of a major potential customers and business investors...yeah...that will cost you your job.

That truck driver causes all that damage and if he had gotten some info, for all that the company that driver works for knows someone who the victum knows who knows that someone who the victum knows who knows someone else may be in charge of a major companies department inchage of distributing their product...and once what happenes spreads, and it does quite quickly, he may never use that shipping company agian for that simple fact, that driver just cost that company and himself thousands.

not tomention if it got onto the local news... really...a "simple" mistake like what that driver made is something to cost his ass.

as for truck drivers being assholes, ive known a few that where pretty cool, but ive also been damn near ran off the insterstate by them a few times...trust me, it isnt fun when a driver starts to merge over into your lane right on top of you...and you know he had to of seen you and was just forcing you over because you can see inside the cab through his mirrors... :sly:

ive also been cutoff many times when they are trying to make lane changes, its like they think they own the road because they are driving hte biggest vehicles out there.
my dad has also had many similar experences while towing out RV trailer.

oh and for daddies, my dad works on computers and owns a computer business, he does a good job and knows what he is doing...but does that mean all computer repair specialts know what they are doing and deserve to be in the business...no...some computer guys are worse than mechanics on saying what you need that you actually dont...

On that note, to all the ignorant comments in this thread, I will say this. The only group that is composed entirely of assholes are infact assholes themselves. Not all people are assholes, not all cops are assholes, not all truckers are assholes. Not everyone on this board is an asshole.
