I don't know about the 3.3 engined ones but my 95 Concorde I used to have (same car only a Chrysler) with a 3.5 engine went to 115 MPH. It will go faster as it's pulling pretty good still but Engine management shuts it down. My 94 LHS is the same way, shuts down at 115.

Engine Management in my 95 Chrysler Intrepid shuts it down at 190 Km/h. Spedometre goes to 240 Km/h, but as soon as I reach 190 it's like I took my foot right off the gas. The car instantly drops to about 160 and continues decellerating until I lift off the gas then reapply it.

Hmm, 190 km/hr equates to 118 MPH which is 3 MPH different than what I observed. What is intreguing is the 0 - 240 km/hr range of the speedo, 240 km/hr equates to 149 MPH, my Concorde and LHS both have 120 MPH speedometers.

I guess we just like to drive faster in Canada!

It's probably just a rounding thing. A direct conversion from Mph to Km/h would make for a silly looking gauge with a lot of odd numbers.

The 94-97 intrepids, concordes and other offsprings of the like are dependant on the engine. I test drove a 2 '96's and the 3.3 went to 107 and the 3.5 was 117.

BTW if you are looking at buying one, DO NOT even consider buying one with a 3.3 the motors are junk.

Well, that is odd since mine is the 3.3 and it reaches 190 Km/h or 118 Mph.

Cars produced in or for canada may have a different cut off programmed, that is if that is where you are from or where the car is from

My 2002 ES 3.5 shuts down at 110 Mph, even before I hit overdrive! It's a little better than my 1994 Thunderbird that shut down at 105 Mph. I don't ever remember my 1989 Buick Skylark ever shutting down even with the 85 Mph speedometer buried. I think I had it up to about 130 Mph on Hwy 295. It's only an estimate but by the way it would catch air at the top of a hill, it got to an unusually high speed. Even my first car, a 1967 Impala 6 cyl. 250 cid got to 120 Mph (downhill with the wind at my back)
