me: i wonder if i can run the boost at 14.5 psi now since i got things done? downshift to 3rd psssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh. omg no hesitation lol yes!! :eek7: a porche

this i spoke to myself as i was merging on to the freeway, and spotted a porche, looked clean, i wonder what type it is
so i spool up the turbo's and catch up to the porche and i read on the back. carrera s
hell with the car running great and the boost all the way up. lets see what happens.
guy finds an opening and punches it, took me off gaurd, so i punch it and catch up to him as we slow down
he starts swerving through traffic, pretty damn dangerously too
what the hell, i hit the gas and(dont try this at home kids) squeezed through the car in front of me and the truck behind me with maybe a foot in room, i catch up to him again as he slows down.
finally i'm ready for when he does it again, he punches it and i do too at the same time, i jump 2 lanes over since he jumped over by one, i get on the side of him, were at full throttle and i'm puling slowly but surely, get about half a car on him(his front at my door) and he shuts down.

me: wtf, cmon what are you doin

he slows down and gets over in the other lane, i look at him with my hands up like wtf, he shakes his head and points forward, but i seen no cops and my exit was coming up, so i just got off and drove home.

Banned for a week! (I am)

Woops, that was Igovert who did that, all you stupid VR4s look the same to me! either way, VR4's arent rice, stop bobbing and weaving in traffic like a 16 year old in his moms Pontiac Sunfire

I think I'd start looking for another car...

something like.................an M3

I think I'd start looking for another car...

something like.................an M3

If you have 80000 to spend and you want some acceleration, you could get the ViperSRT-10 and be all but unstopable

BullDog71ss

Meh, Vipers are painfully slow for the price of the car and size of the engine. Don't get me wrong, the Viper is my childhood hero. But my buddies E36 M3 that was bought for 19k will smoke an srt-10 viper in a strait line, and outhandle it any day of the week. Get's better mpg than the viper as well.

youngvr4
06-05-2005, 06:12 PM
well, the viper srt-10 handles much better than it use to. it runs the 1320 in 11.7, same as the new lambo merc for half the price, looks are opinion but it looks nice, i like the hardtop much better.

whats your buddy got done to his M3?

BlackGT2000
06-05-2005, 07:40 PM
That M3 isn't stock is it? With the viper you are paying for a bit of an exotic, I will admit to that. I thought that the SRT-10 was more powerful better handing and all around better than ever. Am I wrong? I was sure it would thoroughly smoke an M3 and take a GT3 pretty easily. :dunno:

BullDog71ss
06-05-2005, 08:19 PM
No, you are right about it being more powerfull and better handling than ever...the current viper is hands down by far the best factory Viper so far, and in my opinion the best looking.

That being said, i'd still rather buy something like an M3 in the 40-50,000 range and spend the rest (if I had that much which I don't, which is why I have a 71 Camaro) on supporting mods to bring it up to par with the strait line speed of the Viper, and as for handling, an e36 M3 will damn near out handle an srt-10 stock vs stock...nothing sways, and shocks can't take care of.

As far as my buddies M3 goes, it is far from stock, but like I stated earlier it only cost him 19k for supercharged bimmer(88k miles with rebuild 15k ago). The bimmer is also a much more refined car all around, better interior, no side pipes to catch things on fire and none of the other headaches that come along with owning a Viper. So all in all my money would go to zee Germans.

youngvr4
06-05-2005, 08:20 PM
it will destroy an M3 and the handling is much much better. you are exactly right.
but i think he's saying that his buddy has a car that is luxury and upgraded enough to run mid 11's and still have better gas mileage.

edit: bulldog, we posted about the same time, i was responding to blackgt2000.

BullDog71ss

Here's a list of the mods done to the M3.

-RMS stage 2 blower kit (10 lbs boost)
-J&E forged pistons 10.0:1 compression
-forged connecting rods
-ecu changed from obd2 to obd1
-completely remapped ecu custom to RMS kit
-light wieght flywheel
-aquamist water/methanol injection
-38 lb fuel injectors
-UUC short shifter
-UUC full header-back straight exhaust (no cats)
-TMS sway bars
-UUC strutbarbarian strut brace (soon to be installed)

All of this adds up to 390 RWHP in a 3100 pound car. It was dynoed without putting ice in the vortech box and without shooting methanol. Doing both of these should result in another 20-30 rwhp (should).

There is also much more unlocked potential in the car as well. I dunno if you guys noticed or not but the current compression ratio is a little on the high side. That's being fixed with a thicker head gasket at the moment as to attach an 11-13 pound pulley on to the centrifugal blower. The car still has the stock suspension (besides the tms sways) and stock brakes but handles better than I can currently push the car (although a competent driver I'm a bit of a wuse ;) )

Thats a pretty bad ass BMW.

BullDog71ss
06-05-2005, 09:58 PM
It's definetly a trip to drive. Power everywhere, and because of the high compression you really don't need the boost at all to beat up on 90% of the vehicles on the road. I can't wait for it to come back from the shop too, cause when we had it, it had a small head gasket leak that was causing us to lose a good amount of power. It would only go up to 5-6 lbs boost on an 8-10 lb pulley. That night of tearing around town finished it off and caused a dangerous overheat situation the day after. Which sucked ass cause it was the first day my buddy had driven his car(I drove for the first day) and it was cut short 20 min later by the overheat.

sounds similar to dado's m3 on mischief. he's got 458 rwhp at 17psi

BullDog71ss
06-05-2005, 11:19 PM
Dado's car was stripped to the bone tho, that's just way too uncomfortable for my buddies liking. This is his daily driven baby, he likes his interior where it is...IN THE CAR. Heh.

But we definetly want to see 450 to the ground out of this thing within a month or so. Should be attainable with what we have left to upgrade. Probably gonna need larger injectors tho. Although these will squirt up to 42 lbs.
