Help! Advice on Vandura Conversion Purchase!fuzzy4dice 06-03-2005, 09:49 AM Hey Guys, I'm a newbie here and I look forward to speaking with you all! I could use a little help. I am contemplating the purchase of a 1992 GMC 2500 Vandura Conversion van with the 5.7 engine. It's got 104,000 and it's LOADED with the WORKS: TV, VCR, 2 stereos, leather, etc. It's in OK condition cosmetically, a few things aren't working (power seat in the front, the tires might need changing soon, a few interior lights are out, etc.) Anyway, overall the physical condition is ok. Upon test drive it made a scary "grind" type on noise. But I don't think it was the tranny, it was on a pretty sharp turn, and it didn't make the noise again after a pretty extensive continuation of the road test. The shocks squeaked a little. Engine oil looked great, tranny fluid was a little dark and burny, but not too bad. Could use a good change. The tranny seems ok, but maybe not as responsive as I might like. I'm used to driving a Caddy Seville, so I'm used to quick, perky pick-up. I suppose I'm expecting too much out of this monstrous van. How does that sound? I think I can snag it for about 3k. WHAT DO YA'll think!? Thanks, ezt vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
