ps also hard to see in pic but the paint is awful on it :P and the cheapest here that i have found yet is like 1k + for a paint job

Nah, his car is slightly more done up. Exhaust is an Apexi N1, mine is a Megan Racing N1.

He's got more interior goodies. Looks nice, but not entirely needed. Stock gauges work fine really, but I wouldn't mind upgrading. Just so everything looks uniform.

Yes... but as you can tell in the pictures. That part of the car is self explanitory. Even if you don't know what they are... you should be able to tell they are not the same.

I make 252whp/256wtq, this sunday i'm hopefully dyno'ing again... but that makes out for 300hp at the crank.

TV is making, probably around 260-270hp crank, his intake manifold is the biggest problem he has at the moment. Hopefully we both get to dyno this weekend.

I'll have video of both runs for AF.

What have you done to your car since your last run? How much power do you expect to make?

Fresh ACT street strip clutch, the old one felt like it would slip under highloads.

New Fidanza 9.5lb lightweight flywheel, stock flywheel looks and feels like a 20lb weight you'd use on a bench press in a gym. I kid you not... you wouldn't guess it was a flywheel except it's got teeth on the perimeter.

I've got properly gapped plugs this time around, at the time I had problems with 'ignition blowout'. And it'd sputter and backfire under certain loads, once it got going it would regain itself.

This time I plan on running a bit of race gas to up the octane, not that I need it for tuning purposes. I just want the motor to use it's full timing potiential. I believe in Japan they're run on like 94 octane, Souther California has 91. So getting it close to 94 or higher octane will help.

Overall, I just want to run the same numbers. But with these little things done, it might pick up another 5whp. I'll be super suprised if I hit 260whp. Which, I think is almost unheard of on stock injectors, ECU and turbo... at least I haven't seen anything higher.

It's been broken into before. One of my cd cases (full of cd's of course) were stolen, along with my emergency kit, my radar detector, and other miscellaneous items. Nothing I could do of course. So, I'm glad it wasn't stolen. But whatev...

I never did understand the covering the license plate thing.
People see your plates EVERYDAY on the road....they can't do anything with your plate number. Maybe look you up, but even then....anyone you past/raced/pissed off on the roads could do that.

Yeah, but you really wouldn't want to piss off some weirdo from the internet, then have him locate where you live. Then they'll come to your house, and hack you or whomever may be here, or cause damage to your vehicle. They could even steal it.

I'm not to worried about those that I piss off around here. I atleast know what they look like, and I memorize their plates in case anything happens to my car, that's in the event I piss them off. Doesn't happen too often. But, generally, nobody does anything here in Utah. Usually just flip you off. Well, that's what happens to me.

i've done ALOT more work to my Thunderbird then the SS (besides add on an SLP front license plate bracket and SLP emblem..lol)..it feels like I'm more connected to my Thunderbird. Plus im a 'big' guy, so the bigger Thunderbird is more comfortable..

Yah I know, the wheels don't go well at all but I want to get suspension out of the way before I think about switching out the wheels. I'm also getting a litte bored of going around on just 7 psi so I think I'll be looking into boost control before wheel switching as well.

Have a K&N Aircharger intake now, other than that stock. Plan to get a Ligenfelter GT2-3 cam, Stainlessworks coated LT headers, and a dyno-tune in a couple of months though.

It is a touring model. That was my third FD. I must say that particular 3rd generation Rx-7 was the cleanest I've ever seen other than when they were new. I sold it after I hit 25,000 miles. It killed me to see the new owner drive off with a pack of cigarettes saying she was going to smoke in the car. Here are a few links to images.

Here's when I got the car. It came from a climate controlled garage and had never been in rain or snow.

For the particular car I focused on weight reduction and short burst of performance under cool intake temps with smaller intercooler with quick spooling stock turbos. I can't even remember the number of Corvette Z06s, Vipers and other cars I beat in this car. It was really dialed in great for the 40 to 100 mph range.

I've found the car and a 1/4 tank of fuel to be in the 2300 lb range. It's a real blast with my rear 325/50 15 M/T Street Drag radials.

I've been using the G-tech pro Competition to test assorted cars for years. I've been to the drag strip now and again over the past 25 years or so too, but you don't get all the performance detail as you do with the G-tech.

The Cobra is a high 10s car for the 1/4 if 1.8 60ft or less
0 - 60 is 3.1s rolling into it
0 - 100 is mid 6.7s rolling into it

The Rx-7 was a mid to low 12s car for the 1/4. real hard to launch
0 - 60 4.5s rolling into it
0 - 100 8.9s rolling into it
