2000 grand am se 4 cyl
ok heres the problem
when first start moving the car after it is stopped (either at light or parked or whatever ,when stopped) if you turn the wheel while first start moving like 5 mph or so as in like making a right turn after stopping or even a left turn either direction will get a clunk sound that seems to be coming from the front drivers side.
also at higher speeds you dont notice the clunking but there is a definite humming sound at highwyay speeds that when turn the wheel to the left it stops but straight and right turned it hums..
i recently replaced both the front hub/bearings so i know they are good
any help would be great
thanks

It sounds like the axle nuts are not tight enough, and the clunk you are hearing is the outer end of the cv shaft shifting around in the hub. CV joints when they fail make a clicking sound, and they do it when you stress the joint, like turning. Double offset joints, the wobbly one on the inside part of the cv shaft will make a clunking sound when accelerating if they are dry or worn, and when they are ready to fail, they howl, or at least thats what the ones on my subaru did when they wore out.
