96 jeep has no fire to the distributor or coil HELPJeepjones85 05-28-2005, 12:27 PM I have a 96 jeep cherokee 4.0L . Here is the problem i am not getting fire to the distributor or coil all the fu :eek2: ses are good {may be a relay problem?} also key igntion has been replaced and that did help. I was having a problem like this that is very hard to track down. oio 06-01-2005, 12:52 AM I had the same problem and found it to be the (crankshaft position sensor). It is located on the bell housing where the engine and trans bolt together. Mine was at the top at about ten o clock looking forward. It is a cheap part and if it is bad you will get no spark.
