Hey guys. Quick question. Would the Tanabe transmission bushing set take place of the Nismo transmission mount or would I use them both at the same time together?

Yes it would take place of the original mount.

I recommend the Tranny mount from splparts.com.It is a exact copy of the URAS mount just not as expensive.Real nice piece I recommend.I have that coupled with URAS motor mounts which make a nice combo thats is strictly for the hardcore.LOTS of vibrations come into the cabin!During hard launches The tranny stays still doesnt hop around anymore. Now I have another problem to take care of-wheel hop!

I wouldn't recromend using hard motor and tranny mounts, but what do I know I just work in a transmission shop

the best mount is a new OEM one....

you can argue with me all day, and say well if they werne't good how come they have such a thing? Well they also make led washer nozzles and headrest upright LED(riciest thing I've ever seen)....

send me the money you were going to spend on that mount, I'll send you a new OEM one and keep the change, would be better then just throwing the money out in the street LOL.

really a new OEM mount doesn't move that much and your supposed to have some give somewhere in the chassis, Id rather have a rubber mount offer some play then my cross member or frame....Because that engine torque is still going somewhere if the mount just transfers the energy instead of absorbing it........

Yes, but the Nismo mounts are not OEM, but they are still runner, just a lot stiffer. My friend had them on his S13. There is a HUGE difference. They do not make the whole car vibrate, and they absorb almost all of that vibration with no problems. I watched him start his engine up too, and it barely moves back and fourth at all.

im not talking about vibrations, Im talking about torque.......

when you rev a motor up it tries to twist itself in the frame, now if you let ie sit on some rubber, the mount absorbs that energy, if it was a solid mount, that twisting force is put right into the chassis.... but hey if you want to race the car and kill it in 6 months or a year go ahead and do it, if its something you want to keep nice for a long time.... spend your money elsewhere....

Screw that. You ever look at the OEM tranny mount or engine mounts? Fucking rubber bands.... Even this SOHC KA nissan van my friend has had broken engine mounts...

Nismos are the way to go IMO... pricey, but they are well worth it.

I'll send you my OEM mount I pulled out a week ago. I bet I could put it on a slingshot...

that sounds alot like those guys at Discount Tire when they tried to tell me 225 tire wouldnt fit when I alread had them on the car.

Doesnt move that much? have you ever seen a 240SX tranny mount? you can move it an inch with your pinky.

The Nismo Mount is Rubber and the SPL is Polyurethane.

Yeah, through the driveshaft... all 140ft'lbs of chassis destroying torque

Esp with street tires.lol

yes the torque goes through the driveshaft, wher it is put another direction at the rear differntial where the torque then tries to push the car upward on one side reducing traction and putting uneven forces on the frame. i thought you such smart guys would know this

and if you think a transmission and engine don't move around and all the torque does through the driveshaft, then you haven't seen much

I work on drivetrains all day long, you can be smart reading your turbo books but I'll stay with actually working and fixing on cars.....

Well dude I'm telling you, I'm not gonna put that lil rubber band mount back in over my Nismo mount. IDK about you, but I don't like my tranny hitting the bottom of my car.;)

cmon really how much power and traction do you have to be putting out to worry about these problems. i dont think this applies to anyone here.

CLEVER!

Yes... the engine does move around alot... hence getting the Urethane mounts... and I highly doubt getting Solid mounts will Destroy a chassis in six months... Despite what alot of the KA fans would like to tell you it doesnt have that much torque.
