Hi, new to forums. Got my license today in Krooklyn! I want to spend upto 7 g for a car. Researched the ES 3.2L models (epinions, jdpower, carsurvey.org, autos.msn.com, alldata...) and I guess it is reliable. It's not a riceburner either. Wanted your epenions on it. I wanted a car cause I commute from Krooklyn, NY to Staten Island college over the verrazano bridge. Wanted your epenions on the ES.

Heres a link to the jpg image of the cars.com link:

$7,000 50k miles.
Motorsport option?
P.S
IM NOT ADVERTISING
I blacked out the phone # and address so no one steals my deal

This is for my first car!
Much help appreciated.

The 3.2 is the better engine, better than the 2.7 engine.Stay away from one with a 2.7,piece of junk! The 2.7 has a very weak bottom end, timing chain problems, blow up of coarse. When a timing chain goes on a 2.7,the valves bend with about a 3'' by 5'' hole in the valve covers.I have seen one so far on a core that my father got from a guy that bought an used one from my father.

the 3.2 is a pretty good engine, only thing to be concerned is the intake manifold gasket slipping and causing vacuum leaks and misfires. If you find an '01 ES, that's a keeper great car.
