I have a 1992 cutlass supreme and the head gaskets leaked so i put some stop leak in there to stop the leak. Well, I was going to the store and it cut off on me in the middle of the road. IT would crank but would not turn over. I had a shade tree come look at it and he said the fuel pump was good and it was not the timing and it had plenty of water. I am at a lost. He did say something about the fuses might be bad or something electric. Should i put new fuses in or has wire or plug disconnected or is it the head gaskets. Can some one give me a direction to go in, please.

"...cranks but would not turn over..." sounds like starter not engaging flywheel. Is that true? or do you mean turns over but won't start??? Check ALL your fuses, fusible links and compression. Cut off in the middle of the road sounds like electrical.

ignition module located under the rotor on your distributor. This is very common. When the module blows it generally gives no warning and shuts motor off. It is your spark source so no juice gets to your plugs. Not hard to replace and runs about $50.00 to $65.00.
