Sputtering when Accelerating waterfowler05 05-25-2005, 11:28 PM
Gotta problem for ya'll. When I accelerate I feel the truck sputter as if the fuel filter is clogged. This sputtering can be felt better when I am in OD going 60 to 70 mph and try to maintain speed on an incline or hill. The truck will start to sputter and kick, then it will down-shift, the rpm's increase, and the sputtering will go away. I know the problem is not the fuel filter. I just changed it last weekend. What is causing this? 1998 Chevy K-1500 Z71 350 V8 5.7-L Vortec 128,000 miles waterfowler05 05-26-2005, 09:24 PM This additional info may help. When I step on the gas peddle it seems to try to stick in the higher gear before it downshifts to the lower gear. The shuttering is getting worse. Please help! tirefryer93 06-20-2005, 03:04 AM Easy fix, waterfowler05. Go to your EGR valve, disconnect the vacuum line to it, (plug it if you like) and take it for a drive. jonelson29 08-24-2005, 09:09 PM Gotta problem for ya'll. I was wondering if you ever solved this problem, my truck (same as yours with 144,000 miles) has the exact same problems as yours, but no SES codes come on. Any help would be appreciated.
