i've replaced the pinion seal on my 96 tahoe twice in a three month period,any idea why this goes out? i was driving driving normally both times it went out. :confused:

Proper fluid level should be somewhere around 1/2 inch below fill plug...any higher and it overloads the seals. If thats OK:
Check the seal surface on the yoke. If there are wear ridges, get whats called a speedy sleeve. Thats the most economical option for this, the other being to replace the yoke.
Saying that, I assume you have checked the pinions bearings and replaced the crush sleeve and set proper bearing preload and all that jazz.
