i just heard on the news and read in the newspaper about some crazy shit that went down last night. in Gastonia, North Carolina about 30 mins from Charlotte, where i live, there was a bad wreck last night. police say 2 cars, an eclipse and a camaro (it was 98-02 but i couldn't tell if it was a Z28 or not) were racing down the main drag in Gastonia, Franklin Blvd when (it doesn't say exactly how) the camaro crashed. the camaro slid off the road, hit a parked ford explorer with 2 people in it, along with 5 people (critically injuring 2) standing in front of a Dairy Queen, and then the Dairy Queen building itself is where it stopped. the driver of the camaro apparently got out and ran :disappoin because it said police were still looking for him and it showed a picture of the car in the paper. it was totally smashed. the front was smashed in the back was smashed in, im surprised he didn't die. the eclipse evidently got away. the article said that people race down that little main drag and i quote "50-60 TIMES PER NIGHT". god damn, and they didn't already have police there if they race that much, i can hardly believe that.

but just let this be a lesson to all of us, lets learn from this guys mistakes and try not to be total dumbasses when driving wrecklessly :nono: . knock on wood, id hate for that to happen to any of you guys, even the ricers.

thats why i dont street race. I dont want to end up in jail for either me f***ing up some how or something on my car breaking and running into someone and killing them.

man thats a shitty deal, i keep waiting for people to wise up and bring back free dragstrips in heavily populated areas. In my experience the main people street race is they have no where else to do it, and the few strips left have strict regs and charge you.

on another note, i almost lost four good friends at the end of school two weeks ago. They were out in an EVO doin 70mph down back windy roads, drifting and driving rally style. Well, they went around one turn and drifted into the oncoming lane, and nailed a 4runner head on. two people are still in critical condition, another has four broken ribs and a broken nose from having his head smashed through the windsheild and his chest on the dash. and the last girl walked away with a concussion. i have a hard time chastizing people about driving dumb cuz ive certainly done it, its just eye opening is all.

true that, i wouldn't street race if there weren't such strick regulation, on top of that it cost too much... if i could go and just run my car for free i would drive the extra distance... in my case it is cheaper to pay tolls and go to a street racing spot and chill with about 100 other cars that are all in the same situation as me...

that is called sound polution, its got to be at a certain decible level before they can ticket you.. It doesnt just apply to car stereos, it can be any noise you are making that disturbs the general public.. These laws are all good and there for a reason.. most cops will not give you a ticket if your stereo can be heard outside, or if you accelerate a little bit faster than neccesary ( I say most because some cops are just on a power trip)

the people who need to be shot are the punks weaving in and out of traffic at 80mph, the ones who pull up to a red light and crank their stereo, and the kids who find the biggest loudest shittiest sounding fart cans n' put em on their cars.. We dont race on busy streets and around crowds of people. We dont race weaving in and out of traffic. Most of the racing is done late at night when no one is around. If someone post a story where they were reckless they get flammed big time. Statistics show that street racing is one of the least causes of deadly crashes on us roads. Does that mean its safe? no. And everyone on the street racing forums know that.

I do light ot light races only in very very light traffic or none at all. I stop at the speedlimit, once ina great while I go up to 80 in a 60 or so but thats if NO ONE is around. Its fun but only when the chances are at the lower/lowest point of hurting people. I do NOT race in heavy traffic. Occasionally I may go quick to the speed limit around other cars with some traffic but rarely. I try to keep it cool. :)

i never saw that episode of chapelle, was it season 1 or 2, or is 3 out now and i dont know about it bc i have season 2 on dvd and ive seen all of season 1 also.

When i was looking for the maro, i was looking at T/A too. for some strange reason, all the T/A that were for sale at the time, were pretty much all 350's. Couldn't at all find a damn camaro with one, nothing but v6 and 305tbi, lucky to be able to find the damn iroc with 305tpi. Pick up the want ad, if they sell it in your state. You could find some shit if it the right time of day.
