Hello everyone, my question concerns my wife's 2000 GT-S. It has 79k on the clock and no mods.

We noticed the other day that after the car sits overnight there is a horrible rattling/grinding noise when the car is started. This happens only once the car fires, not as the starter is turning. The noise only lasts for about 2 or 3 seconds and then everything returns to normal.

I know nothing about the variable valve timing motors and thought I would enlist your help.
