Hey Guys, Had a couple of questions about the D series motors... Are the d16y8 block, transmission, and head interchangeble with the d16z6 stuff? Thanks.

pretty much all parts are what exactly are you looking to swap?

Thanks for the reply.
I have the 94 ex with the z6 in it and just got a y8 motor because my transmission is going out. I figured that I would build up the y8 and when my tranny goes out I'll just swap a rebuild in my car. The y8 came with after market cams, cam gears, and pulleys so i figured I would get bigger pistons and the after that is all done, go from there.. What do you think? Oh and I was told that the cam seized in the head.. Is the cam still useable? Thanks again for the reply.

Scrap that Y8 head+cam. Valvetrain is never gonna be OEM specs like that, plus Z6 head flows better anyway. It's tested and true. Use the Y8 block (+C/R) and the cam gear, tranny and pulleys.
