I just installed a turbo kit in my sohc civic, but I am having problems with it. When I start it up it right away revs to 4k rpm's and holds it for 5 seconds. After that it idles revs up to 3k rpm's and drops back to 1k, then back to 3k, and so on. At first i thought it was an air leak in my intake manifold, but i changed the gasket and now my turbo just smokes when I start the car, and sounds like a lawn mower if I try and drive it. I can't get a hold of my personal mechanic, so was wondering if anyone has a suggestion.

Yeah, check engine light stays on and white smoke comes out exhaust and engine is burning up seconds after start up.

are you sure this isnt a problem with your IAC valve?

Pull the cel code to find out why the car is idling funny, it could be a number of sensors, if you using the stock map sensor chances are that is the problem. As for the smoke check for leaking oil lines and if the turbo is used it could be the seals on the turbo. After you get these problems fixed it is very important that you get the car tuned.
