Hi just a question about a brake problem.
Some back ground. Just installed new rotors, new pads and a new hub assembly on passanger side. The ABS light kept coming on so I figured I would change pads again. There was a small crack in one of the pads don't know if that would affect anything. They were cheap pads as well. Got a better set ABS light is still coming on. When doing the pads I notice one of the boots for the caliper piston was popped out a bit but could not get it to go back in. Today was driving around and when I got home I applied the brakes and it was as if there was nothing there. Just kept rolling. Anyone ever have this problem and if so what was the cause? This is the second time it happen once about a month ago when the wife was driving I thought she was crazy :).

Thanks in advance.

If the ABS light keeps coming on it could be as simple as the module needing a new computer (go to http://www.circuitsolutions.info/ for info on saving money to get it done) or needing total replacement. Have you heard any sounds coming from the unit? Second, you need a kit to repair the wheel cylinder. It should not keep popping out. I had to replace the rear hub assembly on a 99 Grand Am - same parts - so I know the deal there. But man don't let your wife drive that car with the wheel cylinder needing fixing! Its alright for you to break your neck, but not hers!

I am having the same problem as well. I don't think it's the computer. I think it's just the car, nothing to worry bout I don't think

Does the ABS make a "humming" sound constantly non-stop?

No, I haven't noticed any noise from it, the light turns on that's it

Geez, just get it scanned and the code will point you to the problem, this is not related to seals on the caliper piston.
