I need to replace the oil pan on my 93 ranger, 3l. v6. The book says I need to remove distributor, starter and right side axle beam, loosen engine mounts, and jack engine up about 2 inches to remove pan. It looks like I can get it out without jacking up the engine. Has anyone ever done this job, and if so, how much clearance did you really need to remove the pan? TIA, TG.

it looks like it can be done but it cant.need to raise motor to clear pickup for oil pump.there aren't any motors i can think of that i didn't have to raise motor. even big old full size trucks you need to raise motor

I have the truck partly dissassembled (for oil-pan change), but am having trouble removing the transmission inspection cover. It looks like I need to completely disengage engine from tranny to remove it! Anyone ever done this? Is there an easier way? TIA, TG.
