How much hp?nickydontcutem 05-17-2005, 11:07 PM How much hp is a stock 2g turbo putting down to the wheels? I thought it was 210, but some people are saying that this is crank hp. Could somebody please enlighten me so I don't have false info. Thanks. --- 05-17-2005, 11:15 PM Yep that's Hp at the crank. It really depends on how well the car has been taken care of, tune-ups, oil changes, easy driving, etc. I'd say around 170 to maybe 180hp at the wheels. KNicePL 05-17-2005, 11:19 PM Yea that is the crank HP. But try researching some more so that you can know for sure what the WHP is. Good luck. MoozillaGSX 05-18-2005, 01:19 AM id be intrested in knowing, stock or not i love to know everything i can about our cars. Gsx_hooptie 05-18-2005, 07:19 AM The difference between crank hp and wheel hp represents drivetrain loss. If cars were perfectly efficient, the total sum of energy at the crank would be the same as at the wheels. A little energy gets lost along the way, at each transition. All wheel drive has higher drivetrain loss than front wheel drive. AWD numbers are usually around the high teens or low twenties. These are examples of peoples dyno numbers, or magazine reported dyno numbers, as different from manufacturer rated hp, with near stock cars: Evo VII: ~24% loss Evo VIII: 14.76% loss (car is probably underrated) 3000gt Vr-4: ~25% loss GSx: ~20% Rules of thumb: 15% for 2 wheel drive, 20% for 4 wheel drive. Your numbers will vary, just as the ones above did. Also, percentages suck as a way of measuring loss. The loss is a certain amount of hp, and then increases as mods are added for more hp, but not linearly. The percentage decreases as total hp goes up. Think about it, the drivetrain is still the same. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
