I have a 01 TDI with 150K and yesterday my power steering went out. I loose fluid in 20 miles of highway driving. There had been no previous leakage or signs of leaks. When I put fluid back in, PS works fine, no noise or anything. Is this definately a bad pump or could there be some other cause for leakge? I just don't want to go through the trouble of replacing the pump only to find out I missed something and wasted my time... boschmann 05-16-2005, 08:29 PM Find the leak first, you may need to have someone turn the steering back & forth to pressurize the hoses as you look for the leak.
