this is one part of a car that i am really not into but i know i am going to need to replace my brakes when i get new rims. i plan on getting 17" tenzo av-7's for my 00 civic coupe. so if anybody out there knows about brakes can you please help me out. just general stuff like which are good and what parts i will need to get to replace my brake system. i heard that wilwood is good and i am checking out aem brake kits right now. any kind of knowledge towards brakes and replacing my brakes is very very very appreciated.:D

unless you're gonna be doing hard stops from 200mph sprints, the stock brakes hold up fine...you'll be wasting your money

actually, if you're doing 200MPH i would be worried about the tires more than the brakes. But I have to say that 9 in brakes look UGLY when you got 17s on your car. You never see any other car with 3-4 in between inner part of the rim and the rotor.
just my 2 cent

Yeah, why are you upgrading to something like AEM or Willwood -- you plan on making some kind of super street machine or drag car or something of that sorts? Save your money unless you are going for the "I have something no one else around town has look" -- which will just get your car keyed eventually, so save your money and get some EBC Green brake pads :finger:

you see i am not into brakes so i dont know what from what in the brake department. i do want to change from my stock brakes and i was looking on the internet and found those brands. if you have any suggestions on what brakes to get them let me know. i just want something that is reliable and wont look cheap through my rims.:smoka:

Just pickup a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors -- and some EBC Green brake pads like I said... and some caliper paint, and paint your calipers -- see if you were crafty you could just paint "willwood" on there and if you did a good job 999 outta 1000 people wouldnt even notice less they got right up on it :)
