Hey all, i just sold my 91 accord and bought a bike to save insurance and gas, BUT i'm already looking to buy another (newer) accord in the future (maybe in like 2 years). NOW i have a question for you all. My 91 had a 4 cylinder, but i noticed later years of the accord have a V6 but retained the squarish look of the younger accord ( i hate the new ones because they're soooooo round.). What year did they start the v6, was it around 96' or what? Also, can i find one with Vtec??? I saw a newer v6 with vtec, but i want a slightly older one badly. I was thinking sedan this time too!

Thanks guys.

94 a V6 was offered. The only thing that sux about a V6, for 94-02 it was only offered w/ an auto trans. 98-02 V6 accords have problems with transmissions, I like 97's myself.

I like the 94-97 Accords personally. I'd get one of those and go with what CivicSpoon said and drop an H22 in there. The V6s aren't that impressive except for the newest generation's with the 6 speed manual.

But if i put an h22, i can still have the vtec right? anyways, won't that cost me like 4k?

h22's are vtec, 200hp out of the JDM engine. And you can pick up an h22 for somewhere in the neighborhood of $2000.

what site should i go to for my engine? Also, i heard the h23 comes witha bit more power, is that true? Could it fit a 94-97 accord? Thanks guys.

H23 has less power than the H22. Go to www.hmotorsonline.com

Take your pic between em, both the 220hp H22 amnd the less powered 200hp one will swap in. Just an OBD-II H22a motor, tranny, and ecu if you have a 97 Accord. 96-97, OBD-II, 94-95...OBD-I. Sport Compact Car had an Article, I think last year, but I'm not sure...maybe longer, on swapppin ghte H22a into a 94-97 Accord. I'll try and hunt the Issue Date down for you, maybe you can order a back issue and check it out or something.
