i just bought this 1995 talon tsi awd about 3 mounths ago and am trying to get the "bugs" worked out of but cant figure out why i have no interior courtsey lights, no horn, and no buzzer when door is opened and the key is in the ignition, the courtsey lights work when you open the rear hatch so i know that they do work. i have pulled every fuse out and looked at them and they all are fine,,,anyone have any ideas about what the problem may be?? thanks for your time.....steve

the horn is a bitch to get to work. some work really well but some are a bitch, you have to push them really hard to get them to work. your courtesy lights and door chime are part of the little "popper" that sticks out on the body down where the corner of the door hits it. it must be disconnected because it controls both the door popper and the courtesy lights.

IMO the previous owner disconnected the switch on the body as gthompson97 mentioned. It is not uncommon for the switch to become worn and activate when not supposed to (i.e bumps) and cause the chime and interior light to turn on. This would be kindof annoying as you may imagine. Anyhow this is a rather simple problem regardless if it's the switch or not.

I know your new to the forum (welcome by the way), and there are many knowlegable members here (especially the DSM forum, not that there arent elsewhere, but by owning a DSM you usualy learn lots) that will assist you with more complicated problems. A door switch should be something you should easily figure out yourself. Anyways, what im trying to say is the best way to learn stuff is attempting it yourself. If you get stuck on something to a search, or as someone in person, when all fails, then post a thread with your question.
