Latest rumor regarding the aztek.

The latest thing I've heard about the Aztek is that General Motors is actually paying its employees to drive them around. Does that sound crazy or what? I would have never dreamed of a car company reverting to such actions :D.

I'd quit.

....then I'd stick my finger through my eye, into my brain, and wiggle it around a bit.

I actually had a glimmer of hope that you would say they were being discontinued... don't shine your headlights on one, your car'll turn to stone :D

Now that sickening, and BTW, there are about 4 Azteks sold.

Yes, the Azteks are not selling as well as GM would have like them to. I heard they took their employees company vehicles away, (2001 Bonnevilles), and replaced them with the Aztek. The bonnevilles are a really nice car, but the Aztek, you couldn't pay me enough to drive the POS around.

Yup, Pontiac (and GM in general) gave 2400 (or so) execs in Detroit Aztecs to drive around, and told them to look like 'they were enjoying themselves'. I presume that means you can't wear a paper bag over your head.
I feel I must defend the Aztek, though. It is versatile (but its based on a minivan, so there goes any 'off-road' pretense - so much for versatility) BUT the concept looked, to me, anyway, really neat. It had a bit of the Pirahana's aggresiveness in it. It just looked really stunning, not beautiful, just "wow, look at that!"
But alas, GM decided a jacked up LeMans would sell better.
It isn't selling well, so it may be gone soon (YEAAHHH)

Having employees derive them around & look happy???

Isn't that like paying your best friend to date your sister so others might think there's more to her than ther rugged looks and big back-side?

"Hey look at me! She may be ugly, but she sure is versatile. On our last date we went to the drive-in and drew all kinds of attention.......everyone pointed at us and stared.....jealous I guess?"

Yup, gotta hand it to those GM folks trade in the Bonneville's for Aztek's, bet you alot of garages got cleaned out to make room!

It would be kinda fun to raise one up & make a monster truck out of it, THEN drive it around Detroit :D

Anyone have the time to Photochop a monster truck Aztec? :frog:

Thanks Ran for the Photochop visualizations! :ylsuper

The Aztek actually looks pretty decent as a monster truck & a space ship:lol2:

Maybe I should write GM and let them know they'd sell more Azteks if they had the optional "BIGFOOT" package? But then again, that still may not help:flipa: j/k

As ugly as the Aztek's are, I did see one that I actually liked. My friend jeremy had an issue of PAS Magazine, and it had an offroad Aztek. I dont think anyone will ever say this about another Aztek but it was awesome. Custom everything and a good paint job to boot. I honestly think that if they were to produce those from the factory they would sell better.

I can't believe GM would do such a thing. :o

... Yes, actually I can. GM does a lot of stupid things. Anyway, I don't want to see the Aztec discontinued, I just think they need to make a lot of styling changes. In the meantime, Pontiac should release an off-road version like DriveCars said. I think if GM listened to me, they would be doing a lot better than they are. :silly2:

I like the Aztek.

wow I’m still here?

Ok well I like the idea. The car/suv is actually liked by alot of the market it was intended for but their husband’s say no way. I also see alot of women who used to like the Aztek say they saw the new avalanche and said it made apparent the ugly qualities of the Aztek..make any sense???

I think the 4X4 version that was made by gm was cool.

My wife bought one and I'm embarassed to drive it, but I wouldn't be if it looked like this one http://www.enjoythedrive.com/content/?id=26052.
Oh well, I know she won't let me do this to HER car.
