BCM program fuse question

Strange set of events tied to removal of this fuse (key in the ignition), ...... removed the fuse, inspected it, re-inserted it, .... when I tried to start the engine, everything went black, no dome-cluster-h/lites-chimes and no crank or click, .... its like the battery just left the vehicle, .... was able to boost to start, but engine would not start on its own.
I removed the battery, installed in my other car, it fired right up, so battery was OK, reinstalled it into my van (98 transport), same deal -dead - boosted it and drove it to the local dealer, they tightened all the grounds and battery connections, boosted it once to start, then it started on its own on the following 4 tries (30 min intervals)

they have no answers as to what happened to cause the original no start

Oh yeh, reason for me to checking the fuses, .... door locks inop.

Was this just a fluke or was my actions responsible for the no start?
I'd like to know more about the functions of this "bcm programing" fuse

thanks

Still would like info on the BCM program fuse if anyone has any, .... I did however resolve the door lock issue, with the help from the Montana forum.... 3 eroded splice packs (passenger side body harness) lt blue - white , fixed up the locks, .... glad I found this site, thanks for the help.
