newbie question pricey59 05-08-2005, 05:37 AM
Hi all, I just bought a 99 jetta and bassed on what I read here its a 99.5. My question is that with the 2.0 and an a/t I took notice that the rpm's seem higher than I am used to.....3000 rpm at 80 mph, do these just perform better at higher rpm's or should I slow down lol. Thanks pissboy 05-08-2005, 09:54 AM yup it revs that high its a four cylinder CaseyVR6 05-08-2005, 11:06 AM Sounds about right. Don't worry, it'll still get great gas mileage. pricey59 05-11-2005, 06:50 PM Thanks, guys, I love this car. Its the first one i've owned, anything else i should know? SnoopisTDI 05-12-2005, 01:51 PM I know some of the 2.0 had problems with using a lot of oil, so make sure you check the oil level frequently. But basically it seems that the 2.0 is the most reliable engine VW has right now, so just drive and enjoy. pricey59 05-12-2005, 08:36 PM Thanks, guys I'm sure I'll have more to post later.
