99' 300M radiator fan

Anyone know anything about replacing a radiator fan in a 1999 300M. Just bought the car a month ago and today, we heard a noise and smoke coming out of the front. My husband says it's the radiator fan, but needs a tutorial and advice on this. Thanks..
